What does the damage type «Side» mean

Side damage occurs in T-bone collisions, impacts with parking barriers, or sideswipes. Structurally, the side of a vehicle is critical for occupant protection, so damage here deserves careful inspection.

What may be damaged

doors, rocker panels, body pillars
side airbags (may have deployed and been quietly replaced)
window regulator mechanisms
wiring routed through sills and pillars

What to keep in mind

cabin sealing issues and water ingress
difficulty opening or closing doors properly
hidden weakening of structural body members

Our advice: Pay close attention to the condition of side airbags and look for any signs of welding on the body pillars.
